Bagmati Valley-I ( 2018)

I followed yesterday the same route as 2017 Birding at Bagmati Valley 2017
But the orchard and trees that were grown over the last decade eroded and subsequently drowned in the river delta during last flood. Hence, birds shelter's areas were diminished due to the aforementioned reason. I felt that likewise me,  lost lap of mother on 6th December, these birds lost their shelters. Weather was slightly better this time. Fog is only bottleneck however it was compensated by sunny day. I observed some new species of birds which were not seen by me during my previous walk through around the areas. Most significant among these is Spotted Munia and their family, which was my first sighting ever.
Scaly-breastedMunia or spotted munia (Lonchura punctulata)

Birding at Bagmati Valley 2017

In the backdrop of Chhath festivity, I had traversed across the bank of  Bagmati and its delta  and  devoted some time for bird watching. As usual, in late October, the weather was not favorable for bird watching/tour and moreover not suitable for for Birds photography. However, I had made several attempts during my stay at my native place from 24-27 October 2018. The effort was quite productive and I had seen and snapped four new birds which were not noticed by me on previous birding tour. Indian Roller, Common Kestrel, Crested Lark and Oriental magpie-robin  were watched besides some common and earlier observed birds.
